Fair time!

There's no better way to raise children than with livestock. We've raised ours in 4-H and FFA and truly appreciate the leadership, responsibility and life skills they've learned in both organizations. Jessica and Will showed dairy goats, market goats, market hogs, commercial gilts, market lambs, registered sheep and commercial ewes. They learned to win and lose with grace. They learned to be dediacted and to work hard!

Kyle is a retired high school Agricultural teacher who has now found his new passion as a county agent working in agriculture in Lonoke county Arkansas. He's been in this new role for a little over a year now. I'm the county agent working in agriculture in White county and I've bee working for 27 years! I love it - it's the world's greatest job!

Rafter S Mercantile loves farm families and rural kiddos. We sponsored some awards at the county fair and gave money to some of our youth who qualified for the White County Fair Junior Livestock Auction. We have already received two hand written thankyou notes from some of the kiddos we donated funds to. (No handwritten notes is not a lost art)

We just finished up our state fair, where Kyle and I are privileged to assist with the sheep shows there. It's always a fun time and a pleasure to see youth grow with their showmanship skills and their sheep projects over the years.

We love our life, our kids, our cattle and our careers! We thankyou for helping us to grow this small business. It's a side hustle but we do it together as a family! Jessica is vital to the success, planning and technical side to the business. Kyle is the engineer, builder, cheerleader and heavy box lifter! Will, when his college and work schedule allows, shows up and is an excellent bagger of folks purchases! He helped me at a recent event in our hometown of Searcy to get people served efficiently.

I thought I'd share a few photos of years past for fun!
